The Foundation

The William Harvey Research Foundation is a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) www.amrc.org.uk and has been awarded 'best practice in medical and health research peer review' in 2015 by the AMRC. The Foundation supports research primarily in the form of project grants to the William Harvey Research Institute www.whri.qmul.ac.uk on the following areas:

The William Harvey Research Foundation also plays a key role in funding the training of young medical researchers through PhD and Masters of Research Studentships. It recognises the key role research training plays in enabling scientists to undertake high quality research at the cutting edge of their chosen field. For this reason considerable emphasis is given to supporting research studentships as one of the Foundation's priority areas.

During the past 15 years the William Harvey Research Foundation has supported more than 50 PhD studentships. After accomplishing high quality research projects in the William Harvey Research Institute many have gone on to pursue high flying careers in academia and the pharmaceutical industry.
